Markie Re'em, the days before Christmas
January 5th, 2010
and I helped Ryan scrape the paint in Drew and Ryan's bedroom, which none of us liked much.
We also had soldiers coming up into our apartment and roof a lot before Christmas. (Our Israeli friends said they weren't supposed to be doing that without a warrant.) They wouldn't talk to us, even when we offered them tea and cookies.
We videotaped them: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1225822619357&ref=mf and Drew taught us how to capture and edit the film.
He also taught me how to use a tripod.
Still they kept coming and not talking to us, so we thought and thought about what to do.
Then we thought, “Hey, we should send a digital video to our family and friends with us singing a Christmas song! And then the soldiers could have an interesting cross-cultural experience! The soldiers didn't come back, but we thought the video was a good idea anyway and we sang Joy to the World! (I am a coloratura soprano.)

Hi kids!
Kathy and I have been super busy! You can read about what she thinks is interesting at http://www.cpt.org/blogs/kathykern.
We've also had a lot of problems with the internet in the last week, which made it hard to upload pictures, but I told Kathy she will be even busier when the CPT delegation gets here, so we're going to try to put up a bunch pictures tonight! Hurray!
Kathy's still doing yoga with Paulette,
