HEBRON: URGENT ACTION - NEW WAVE OF HOME DEMOLITION

URGENT ACTION: ALERT REPRESENTATIVES TO THE PLIGHT OF PALESTINIANS
WHO HAVE SUFFERED HOME DEMOLITION

CPT Hebron

On February 4th the Israeli Military demolished two homes in the
Hebron District. These demolitions come after several months in which
none occurred in the district and may represent the beginning of a new
wave of demolitions. One of the houses destroyed was that of Fayez
and Huba Jabber, who have been matched to two North American Churches
through CPT's Campaign for Secure Dwellings. Fayez and Huba are a
young couple, just laying the foundations of their life together.
When their home was demolished, those foundations were buried under
the rubble.

We urge our constituency to respond to this Thursday's demolitions in
the following ways.

--Set up a tent outside of your home and spend time in it with your
loved ones in order to experience some of what it is to live in a tent
full-time as some Palestinians whose homes are demolished are forced
to do. Then relate your experience to your elected officials in the
form of a letter or a face-to-face visit, in order to alert them to
the problem of home demolitions in the Occupied Territories (See
addresses below).

--Place a tent in your place of worship as a reminder that there are
families in Palestine whose homes are being demolished, and as a call
to action.

--Camp in front of the offices of responsible government agencies.

--Contact CPT's office in Chicago to find out how you and your
congregation can become involved in the Campaign for Secure Dwellings.
