During Holy Week, Christian Peacemaker Teams in Chiapas will join with
others in daily prayer vigils at the military base near X'oyep (Show-yep'),
a refugee community where 1100 members of the pacifist Christian group Las
Abejas (the Bees) live. On Easter morning they will plant corn, the Mayan
symbol of life, on the grounds of the base. Pray with them for a miracle,
that this base will
be closed and the oppression of indigenous people ended.
