ASUBPEESCHOSEEWAGONG ACTION ALERT UPDATE: Newspapers of the McClatchy Co.

The CPT project at Grassy Narrows recently invited supporters to send a
letter to Gary Pruitt, President and CEO of the McClatchy Company,
encouraging his company to meet with representatives from the Grassy Narrows
First Nation. The McClatchy Co. owns several newspapers in the United States
and buys newsprint from the Abitibi-Consolidated, Inc. pulp mill in Kenora,
Ontario. Abitibi supplies the mill with wood clear-cut on Grassy Narrows
Traditional Land Use Area.

Below you will find the names and addresses of newspapers owned by the
McClatchy Co. If you live in an area served by one of these newspapers,
please write a letter to the editor of that newspaper. Let him or her know
that you are concerned about the source of the newsprint their paper uses -
specifically, the Traditional Land Use Area of the Grassy Narrows community.
Tell these editors that you would like representatives of the McClatchy Co.
To meet with representatives of that community.
