HEBRON URGENT ACTION ADDENDUM: Best to contact U.S. legislators in home districts
CPTnet March 3, 2004 HEBRON URGENT ACTION ADDENDUM: Best to contact U.S.
legislators in home districts
[Note: Yesterday's posting, "HEBRON URGENT ACTION: Israeli settlements in
Beqa'a doubling in size," brought the following response from Lois Kenagy,
former member of the CPT Steering Committee. Campaign for Secure Dwellings
Coordinator Rich Meyer notes that home office addresses of congresspeople
may be found at www.congress.org.]
Friends, Let me note that when writing to members of Congress letters
should be sent to their home offices, in state, not in DC. Letters to DC are
delayed for weeks, as they have to be opened in a "secure" setting before
being delivered to the intended recipients.
Our Oregon representatives tell us that letters they receive
here are opened and then sent every evening by Federal Express to the DC
office.
So -- do take action on the Israeli settlements, but either
phone DC or send mail to the local office.
