CHICAGO/TORONTO: CPT calls for peacemakers to staff projects
Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) calls for full-time and part-time
applicants to staff violence reduction projects in Colombia; Hebron, West
Bank; Iraq; Kenora, Ontario and to respond to new initiatives in North
America and elsewhere. Candidates should be committed to nonviolence,
grounded in faith, and willing to take risks by working in settings of
violence and oppression.
Full-time Peacemaker Corps members are on a project site year-round;
part-time (Reserve Corps) members join a team for a period of two weeks to
three months a year. Both full- and part-time members commit to three year
terms.
Apply by November 5 for winter Peacemaker Corps training (December 27, 2004
through January 24, 2005). Participation in a short-term CPT delegation is
required prior to training, so applications from former CPT delegation
members are especially encouraged. If you have not yet participated in a
short-term delegation, an opportunity still exists to join a delegation to
Kenora/ Asubpeeschoseewagong (Grassy Narrows, Ontario) November 12-21.
(Contact CPT immediately if you are interested in the delegation.)
