CHICAGO/TORONTO: Memorial services for Gene Stoltzfus

On Wednesday, 10 March 2010, Christian Peacemaker Team’s founding director Gene Stoltzfus died in Fort Frances, Ontario when his heart stopped while he was bicycling near his home on the first spring-like day of the year.

 Gene Stoltzfus touched many lives in many places.  Communities around the world are gathering to remember him.  Following are details of some memorial services:
 
IN CANADA:

  • Memorial Service: Emo, Ontario; Thursday, March 18, 2pm; Knox United Church; 3 Roy St.

 

IN THE USA:

Informal Sharing Circle: Chicago, IL; Sunday, March 28, 3-6pm; Wellington Ave. UCC; 615 W.  Wellington

  • Memorial Service: Goshen, IN; Sunday, April 11, 3pm; Waterford Mennonite Church; 65975 SR  15

 

IN THE PHILIPPINES:

  • Friends will gather for memorial/prayer services in the communities of the former U.S. bases at Clark and Subic, in Davao, Quezon City, and Manila.
  • Memorial Mass: Quezon City; Monday, March 15; Good Shepherd Chapel, Aurora  Blvd
  • Memorial Mass: Davao City; Wednesday, March 17, 5pm; Chapel of the  Assumption Sisters, Agdao

 

IN IRAQ:

CPTers and friends will gather for a local memorial service in  Suleimaniya
