Since 1995 the Christian Peacemaker Team in Hebron has provided a violence-reduction presence with street patrols, responding when we hear word of trouble, and staying with people in tense times and places. The team also supports Israeli and Palestinian peacemakers in their work. It is clear to us that there can be no security for Israelis or Palestinians as long as the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip continues.

To reach our goal of secure dwellings for all in this land, we need the help of many congregations across North America and Europe to influence national foreign policy toward greater respect for human rights and international law.

Please help:

• We invite you to form a Campaign for Secure Dwellings partner group in your congregation. You will be matched with a specific neighborhood or village in or around Hebron facing home demolition, land confiscation or other threats to the security of families. You will receive reports of life in this area, notes from visits of CPT team members to families, and occasional Urgent Action appeals.
• We ask you to promote the Campaign for Secure Dwellings with other congregations – we want to add many new North American and European partners this year.

The commitment of a "Campaign for Secure Dwellings" partner group:

• respond to Urgent Action appeals
• bring your concern for a just peace in Israel/Palestine into your worship on a regular basis, at least quarterly.  CPT will provide some worship resources once each quarter.
• plan or participate in a public forum, action, vigil or witness at least once each year, sending photos, reports, press releases, newspaper clippings, etc. to the CSD coordinator, Kathie Uhler. She will make these materials available to both the Palestinians concerned and the media in Israel/Palestine to demonstrate North American and European support for an end to the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and for a just peace.

The Campaign for Secure Dwellings is a network of congregations in North America and Europe working to end the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Christian Peacemaker Teams coordinates the Campaign for Secure Dwellings in cooperation with the Palestinian Land Defense Committee, Rabbis for Human Rights, and the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions. Christian Peacemaker Teams is a ministry of active peacemaking sponsored by Mennonites, Brethren and Friends Meetings.
