COLOMBIA: CPT calls on all armed actors to love their enemies and leave the
civilian population in peace

[NOTE: The Colombia team has distributed the statement below in Spanish to
local media and organizations.

The team also sends the following expression of gratitude to the people who
responded with more than a hundred e-mails and faxes and phone calls to
various authorities after learning that paramilitaries may have put team
members on one of their "death lists" : "CPT Colombia has felt the
wonderful support of so many of you during the recent time of increased
tension and threats. We know that our Embassies are responding to your
concerns, as are the local police and army units. We pray that this will
also lead to greater security for the many Colombians who have been under
threat for much longer than we have."]
