The celebration was a cultural tribute to the non-violent resistance of the Palestinian people in the South Hebron Hills. The Susiya center is used to challenge the Israeli govt policy of seperating Israeli and Palestinians providing a space where all can learn about the reality of life in the occupied territory.
note: The People of Susiya have been displaced by the the Israeli govt multiple times only to return to their land. Their resistance is strong and non violent acts like the May 28th celebration fortifies their resilence.
