Reflections by Missing CPTers

Sample Prayer

"On November 26, four activists of Christian Peacemaker Teams were abducted in Iraq. We pray for their kidnappers, that they may realize that violence will not help us build a better world. We pray for our four friends, that their faith may sustain them in these difficult times and that they may bear witness of the Christian love for one's enemies, as they have always done in their activity in support of the victims of war. We pray for all the Iraqis who have disappeared or are being held captive, that they may soon be reunited with their loved ones."

A suggested prayer offered by Italian friends.

An end to the occupation.
An end to the abuse of detainees.
Freedom for the peacemakers.

CPT Calls for peace actions, demonstrations and vigils

Highlight the following messages:

"End the Occupation"

"End Detainee Abuse"

"Love your Enemies"

"Freedom for the Peacemakers"

We remain concerned about the well-being of our team-mates. At the same time, we remain concerned about the well-being of all Iraqis who are suffering under occupation.

Those who are with our team-mates have demanded the release from captivity of the Iraqi detainees held in United States and Iraqi prisons.

Christian Peacemaker Teams believes that no single person, no single nation, can meet the demands of Justice. No single person, no single nation, can meet the demands of Peace.

We believe that it is everyone's responsibility to do their part to bring each combatant and each captive home to their families and to end the war and occupation.
