Bebol Bower*

by Ehab Lotayef (CPT Delegate)

They came
The rich and the boor
The tall and the small
They came
The cultured and the crude
The young and the old

They came
Leaving back the fear
they wore for years
… and came

In Egybt:
The Nile is once again flowing
The wheat is once again growing
The bebol took back the street
Standing strong and
falling broud

Bower to the bebol
beyond misbronunciation

For what’s in a “P”
You don’t need it

to say “I’m free”

Quebec, Canada – January 27, 2011

* The English P does not exist in the Arabic language.  Many Egyptians replace the P sound, pronouncing it as B.
