* Jesuit Volunteer Corps, 1983-1986; volunteered in Boston one year at community center/alternative high school; worked two years on JVC:East staff recruiting, placing, and training volunteers
* Woodrock, 1986-1991; worked as youth counselor in low income, multi-racial section of Philadelphia; focused on culture, decision making, conflict resolution
* Kensington Joint Action Council, 1991-1996; worked as Executive Director of small multi-racial, multi-lingual project that organized community members to fight for better living conditions in North Philadelphia\
* Centro de Encuentros y Dialogos, volunteered for five months in 1997 in Cuernavaca, Mexico helping with organization's efforts to support budding community efforts to create child care centers, nutrition programs, environmental projects, etc.
* House of Grace Catholic Worker, 1997-2000; lived and work with Catholic Worker community in Philadelphia that ran free health clinic, and offered hospitality to homeless women, men and families. We also organized different nonviolent efforts to resist different forms of violence and developed community gardens.
* Silk Hope Catholic Worker, 2000-2002; lived and work with Catholic Worker community in rural North Carolina that offered hospitality to homeless women and families. We also had a very large garden and organized different nonviolent efforts to resist different forms of violence, with a special focus on the violence against Iraq.
* Christian Peacemaker Teams, periodically from 2000 to present; worked for different periods (usually 3-4 months) with CPT violence reduction projects in conflict zones in Chiapas, Mexico and Barrancabermeja, Colombia where we accompany displaced communities and support nonviolent efforts of communities and organizations. (Returned from 4 months in Colombia 8/28/03)
* Ongoing: involvement in various nonviolent efforts and organizations working to end war, to end U.S. support of violence in Latin America, and against death penalty.
