Gretchen graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology from Whitman College and achieved an M.S. degree in Psychology from Tulane University in 1962.  Prior to retiring from active employment in 2000, her major professional work has been within the field of chronic pain research and rehabilitation, using biofeedback therapy to help clients learn to change their body's response to pain and to learn both simple and deep methods of self-relaxation.  She earned a Practitioner certificate in Somatic Experiencing, a body-focused therapy to enable traumatic stress recovery.  She has been a member of the CPT Reserve Corps since 1997 and an active participant in the CPT-Colorado regional group.
