Haven Whiteside

After raising a family (now 4 grownup children and  grandchildren), an academic career in nuclear physics (1962-1974), and a second career in environmental policy on staff with the US Senate and the Maine Legislature (1974-1990), I went on to a third career of volunteer service with my wife Rose, beginning with the Peace Corps in 1991.  Worked with disadvantaged people in Central America, the Caribbean, Appalachia, and Florida.  In 2002, began peacemaking with CPT: two delegations to Colombia and CPT training in Chicago, We then joined the part-time Reserve Corps and went to Iraq and the Arizona/Mexico Borderlands.  I have continued the work since Rose died in 2005, six months after our assignment on the Arizona/ Mexican border.  Member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church, Tampa Florida.

Will address church groups community groups, or (my favorite) living rooms.
Available in Florida, where I live, or along the way when I travel for family visits in New England, New York, Ohio, Toronto, and Virginia.
