“WE REMEMBER, YOU ARE WITH US, WE WILL CARRY ON”
Karen Brandow flowed into the life of CPT like a spring of living water. For the past couple of years, Karen offered counseling and trauma care to CPTers in need of psychosocial support. Her counseling skills, shaped by years of living and working as a peacemaker in Guatemala’s war zones, attuned her heart to support CPTers in a unique and profoundly gifted way.
Karen journeyed with cancer and passed away peacefully on 26 October 2014 at the age of 60 in her home with her singer song-writer partner, Charlie King, by her side. Though she collaborated with CPT for such a brief time, the impact she had on our organization lives on in a large and beautiful way.
Karen named CPT as one of two organizations to receive memorial contributions in her honor. In the words of Charlie King from a song he wrote after her death, Karen, “we remember, you are with us, we will carry on.”
